The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) refers to the statement by the Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam that the Cabinet is looking into solving the problem of unilateral child conversion and introducing amendments to related laws.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) is dismayed that the National Security Council (NSC) Bill was passed in a hurry on 3rd December, 2015 being the last day of the Parliament’s sitting. This is because the NSC Bill has serious consequences as it appears to over-ride certain provisions of the Federal Constitution and puts civil liberties in jeopardy and abuse.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) said it will lobby for the amendment of constitutions of five states with regard to parents' role in child conversion.

The Malaysian Consultative Council Of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) refers to the Statement made by the Malaysian Syariah Lawyers Association (PGSM) (MalaysiaKini 2/7/2013) that there was no major change brought by Section 107 of the Administration of Islamic Laws (FT) Bill 2013 as there was already a similar provision, in existing Section 95 in place. The PGSM further stated that similar provision as Section 95 existed in other State Enactments, such as, Pahang (introduced in 2001), Malacca (2002), Selangor (2003) etc.

The Malaysian Consultative Council Of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) vehemently objects to some provisions found in the RANG UNDANG-UNDANG PENTADBIRAN AGAMA ISLAM (WILAYAH-WILAYAH PERSEKUTUAN) 2013 tabled in Parliament for its first reading on 26 June 2013 as they affect the Non-Muslims. The Bill under disguise of lslamic Laws is unilaterally trying to alter the Federal Constitution by translating the word "parent" in the Federal Constitution to mean "lbu atau Bapa" as opposed to "lbubapa".
